studied at the Musikhochschulen in Bremen, Würzburg and Trossingen.
Masterclasses with Gerhard Darmstadt, Anner Bylsma, Cecil Aronowitz, Serge Collot and others. Since 1980 interested in historical performance on the cello.
Plays in chambermusicgroups, souch as Puccini-Quartett (Prim. Th. Hengelbrock), Consortium musicum Enheim, deutsch-dänisches klavierquintett, Amesis – Trio and as Soloplayer in chamberorchestras like Collegium musicum Bremen, Residenzorchester Würzburg, Kammeroper Konstanz, La Rejouissance, Telemann-Collegium Herford, (L. Rémy/W. Helbich), L´Arco, Le petite bruit, and Norddeutsches Barock-Collegium, Bremen
Since 1973 work as teacher, later additionally as leader of a musicschool in several places. Since 1993 leader of the Musikschule des Kreises Gütersloh and of the Gütersloher Philharmoniker.
Author of the book "Früher Anfang auf dem Cello" .
